Meet the ActEU Civil Society Network

ActEU aims to activate European citizens’ trust in times of crisis and polarisation, and in so doing work towards a new era of representative democracy. But how can we achieve our bold ambitions? Today we are announcing the formation of our ActEU Civil Society Network (CSN), a group of around 20 civil society representatives working on 6 thematics across 12 countries which will be at the forefront of our transformative efforts.

Acting as the key advisory body to the ActEU scientific team, this vibrant group of dedicated individuals is uniquely equipped to make a significant impact in areas such as multi-level governance, climate, citizens and youth engagement, gender equality, and migration. Our CSN members have unique experience on the ground as well as in advocacy and policy advisory fields, so they are ideally placed to help us ensure ActEU’s outputs end up in the right hands and have a meaningful impact on the future of representative democracy in Europe.

This collaboration is pivotal in reaching significant milestones in our journey towards meaningful change:

  1. Groundbreaking guidance: The CSN refines our strategies, ensuring inclusivity and effectiveness in every step towards change.
  2. Toolkit co-creation: The CSN supports our researchers in crafting dynamic toolkits to combat declining political trust, sparking actionable change across Europe.
  3. Amplified impact: The CSN actively participates in the dissemination of research findings, amplifying our impact, engaging with the community, and fostering a dialogue that drives societal progress.

“The ActEU Civil Society Network offers an unparalleled opportunity to directly and collectively influence the course of European policy and innovation. We’re not just discussing change; we’re actively shaping the future of the EU.”
