ECPR General Conference

How can we measure trust beyond the question „How much do you trust“? What do we know about trust-participation patterns and the emotional side of trust? Under which circumstances do citizens trust political parties and how can we make citizens feel part of decision-making and policy-making?

With regard to these questions Ruth Berkowitz and Kristina Weissenbach presented first insights of ActEU at this year’s ECPR General Conference in Dublin:

➡️Ruth Berkowitz: More than populist Party-cipation? https://ecpr.eu/Events/Event/PaperDetails/77014

➡️Kristina Weissenbach: Activating European Citizens – process-related, informal and emotional aspects of trust in representative democracy. https://ecpr.eu/Events/Event/PaperDetails/77262

WDR 5 Podcast „Politikum“ with Dr. Kristina Weissenbach

5th of March 2024

Dr. Kristina Weissenbach was a guest on the WDR 5 podcast “Politikum”. Tractors are mostly green, just like the Green Party. But the similarities stop there, especially when it comes to the views of many farmers. The anger against this political orientation cannot be overlooked. In a discussion with host Philipp Anft, Dr. Kristina Weissenbach sheds light on the issue. The question arises as to whether the Greens are really only acting according to their world view. The answer: no, but it seems that the party lacks a presence in the places where these views are disseminated.
